Czech companies are actively pursuing digital transformation and implementing Industry 4.0 elements, as shown by an independent survey by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech republic (SPCR). Half of all companies want to invest more into this area within the next 5 years. Most businesses are motivated by improving their market position against their competitors.

The SPCR survey included 105 companies and only 12% are not investing in Industry 4.0 elements. This shows how important it is for Czech businesses to keep up with modern technologies. They are driven by their future success and an effort to get a head start on their competitors, or at least to keep up with the competition and maintain their current position on the market.

“In the daily life of a business, Industry 4.0 manifests in the form of digitizing, system integration and automation, says Martin Jirmann, CEO of ABRA Software, about the situation today. “It is therefore important to implement software tools and systems which allow for easy integration through the modern API interface. More and more emphasis is also put on the internet of things, which enables us to collect data from production, warehouses, etc., and immediately use it.”

A survey has shown that businesses don’t have a strategic approach to digitizing. Digital strategies could prevent them from non-systematic implementation of isolated, partial solutions.

“When you are building a house, you don’t design and build individual floors which you then patch together. It’s the same with strategic IT – you need a long-term horizon and to plan with regard to the trends in the field. The ABRA Gen ERP system is complex and versatile enough that it can fulfil most key needs of different companies,” says Martin Jirmann.

Companies invest into digitizing in order to increase productivity per employee (56%), decrease costs per unit (44%), and optimize the utilization of production capacities (41%). In all cases, the first step towards optimal management of all the company’s processes is a properly set-up information system.

ABRA Gen automates and digitizes the work with documents throughout the business, which unburdens the employees from lengthy and repetitive tasks. It saves time for production companies thanks to capacity planning, management, and detailed record-keeping for the processes within production. Up-to-date data from production is available at all times, which enables you to calculate product prices, follow actual costs, or to look at the size of ongoing production from the financial point of view.
