"I do things as best I can"
Petr Vacek graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague, specializing in technical cybernetics. Together with Jaroslav Řasa, they founded the software company ABRA while he was still at university. They built the company from a consortium, through a Ltd., to its current form of a joint stock company. He worked at different positions in ABRA Software – from software development, consultant, and sales manager, through sales director and back to development project lead, and then as an analyst and a designer of new models and functionalities in a product. He has returned to designing and programming web apps using modern technologies. Throughout his career at ABRA, he has had a part in leading the company; currently, he is a member of the supervisory board of ABRA Software a.s. and an executive at its subsidiary, ABRA Flexi.
His main project today is the creation of environments for web client development; this web client is to become the new platform for working with ABRA Flexi and ABRA Gen. He likes to push through new, useful functions and easy-to-use, intuitive and user-friendly design in new products.
He is a keyboard player and singer in several bands, sings in a choir, likes languages, traveling, photography, video, ballroom dancing, airplane modeling, skiing, cycling and squash.
