The brand Yves Rocher was born in 1959 from a vision of Mr Yves Rocher, who placed his faith in cosmetics based on natural, which would make beauty accessible to every woman.
YVES ROCHER FRANCE In 1956, Mr Yves Rocher produced the first cream from pilewort in the attic of his house. In 1959, he established a laboratory for natural cosmetics in his home, the Breton village of La Gacilly. He remained loyal to his home village and sold his products through mail-order. The company is still closely tied to La Gacilly today, although yearly production currently amounts to 300 million cosmetic products for sale throughout the world.
NATURE AND HEALTHMr Yves Rocher linked a knowledge of nature and scientific research with the aim of utilising the most effective natural extracts in his products. At the same time, he supported his philosophy with support for a healthy environment.
HISTORY OF THE CZECH BRANCH Yves Rocher spol. s r. o. was established in 1991, when Alena Záhorská settled the terms and conditions of the Czech branch with the parent company Yves Rocher France. In the same year she opened the first cosmetics store in Vodičkova Street in Prague. In 1995, the second Prague shop was opened and more shops were opened throughout the country in the following years. Today, Yves Rocher has over 200 employees, 47 sales points throughout the Czech Republic, and offers cosmetic care in 18 salons.

We had been building brand awareness, always accentuating the purity of the products and business philosophy ethics. The most problematic fact for us was that we had to have every single product certificated for the Czech Republic before our entry to the EU. This procedure was very exhausting during the beginning of our company, but trust in quality helped us overcome these difficulties,“Alena Záhorská, Business Director of Yves Rocher Czech Republic, remembers the beginnings of their undertaking.

THE PIONEERS OF FRANCHISING Yves Rocher has many franchise business partners in the Czech Republic. For many years, the company has been a pioneer of this type of cooperation. Lucie Tomišková, Yves Rocher press agent, summarises the benefits of franchising as rendered by Yves Rocher:„We primarily help the franchisees to reduce the risks of their undertaking by providing them with comprehensive support and professional help in all areas of their undertaking, e.g. in the distribution of goods or marketing support. The cooperation is bilateral – in return the franchisee gives the knowledge of the local environment and the ability to efficiently address local clients.“
AFTER PROPERTY RESTRUCTURING, the company management started focusing its attention on management tools optimisation, unification of heavily fragmented records, accumulation of data from many types of software applications and hardware platform integration.
COSMETICS COMPANY IT For many years, the company utilised outsourced accounting services. After 2005 it was necessary to switch to an internal accounting system, where payroll could be kept together with accounting. In later years a need for efficient monitoring of inventory and the possibility to work with business partner and customer information sprung into existence, which is why a selection procedure for a comprehensive information system was put into place.„We only included Czech suppliers in the selection procedure," Lucie Tomišková clarifies. “From the short list of three systems we chose ABRA G3, which had offered a wide variety of functions in a single system.“

ABRA IN THE SERVICE OF COSMETICS „ABRA G3 saves us time as we have all important information in a single database. We had previously kept everything in various records. ABRA is connected to our POS systems, which is why working with data is very fast and intuitive for us,“ says Lucie Tomišková.
Pavel Indra, Yves Rocher Logistics Manager, further describes the usage of ABRA G3: „As a trade company, we mostly use the sales agendas; working with warehouses is fundamental for us. We import receipts to ABRA and further send orders to an external warehouse with the press of a button. This is the beginning of a very efficient sales process.“
